Watch: McConnell Shreds Pelosi And Democrats Over Their New ‘Requests’ For The Senate Impeachment Trial

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell shredded House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Democrat senators because of their shenanigans over not sending the articles of impeachment to the Senate.

I gotta say Mitch was pretty fired up during his interview today and he’s not messing around.

On Monday during an interview with “Fox and Friends,” McConnell was on fire (as much as you would expect Mitch could be). McConnel scoffed at the idea of letting Senator’s Chuck Schumer, Elizabeth Warren, or Bernie Sander be “impartial judges” during the President’s trial in the Senate.

“Do you think Chuck Schumer is impartial? Do you think Elizabeth Warren is impartial? Bernie Sanders is impartial? So let’s quit the charade. This is a political exercise. … All I’m asking of Schumer is that we treat Trump the same way we treated [President] Clinton,” McConnell said.

“[Pelosi] apparently believes that she can tell us how to run the trial,” he added of the Speaker’s decision to withhold the two articles of impeachment.

“Look, we’re at an impasse. We can’t do anything until the Speaker sends the papers over, so everybody enjoy the holidays,” he added.

McConnell was responding to Pelosi’s earlier comments on why she hasn’t sent the articles of impeachment over to the Senate.

“We don’t know the arena that we’re in. Frankly, I don’t care what the Republicans say,” she said. “We would hope there would be a fair process just as I hope they would honor the Constitution.”

Funny she would mention “honor the Constitution” because one of her own witnesses has slammed her for not sending them yet and that she is in violation of the constitution.

Noah Feldman who is a law professor at Harvard University and witness during the impeachment proceedings took the Speaker of the House to task saying “an indefinite delay[in sending articles of impeachment] would pose a serious problem”

Here’s what Feldman wrote:

But an indefinite delay would pose a serious problem. Impeachment as contemplated by the Constitution does not consist merely of the vote by the House, but of the process of sending the articles to the Senate for trial. Both parts are necessary to make an impeachment under the Constitution: The House must actually send the articles and send managers to the Senate to prosecute the impeachment. And the Senate must actually hold a trial.

In other words impeachment is a process not a vote. Feldman correctly states, “impeachment” under the Constitution means the House sending its approved articles of to the Senate, with House managers standing up in the Senate and saying the president is impeached.”

So Nancy, honor the Constitution and send the articles over so we can expose the BS you have started.
