Moments ago, GOP lawmakers picked Jim Jordan to lead the House Judiciary Committee. Rep. Liz Cheney of Wyoming called the pick a “totally unified decision all around.”
Earlier in the day, during President Trump’s controversial acquittal victory speech, President Trump told a story about meeting Jim Jordan and praised how tough he is, prompting a flustered Jordan to laugh along his GOP colleagues.
“When I first got to know Jim, I said, ‘Huh, he never wears a jacket. What the hell’s going on?’” Trump said. “He’s obviously very proud of his body.
“They say where he works out … the machine starts burning.”
Trump then spoke at length about Jordan’s cauliflower ears, a side effect from his collegiate wrestling careers and praised him for how tough he is, saying he brought that toughness to the political arena.
