During his opening statement Texas Senator Ted Cruz argued Judge Amy Coney Barrett’s qualifications are so strong that Democrats are barely mentioning her during this nomination hearing.

Cruz pointed out Barrett graduated number one in her class at Notre Dame Law and clerked for Justice Scalia.
