Senate Overrules Mitt Romney, Acquits Trump of All Charges Shaming Dems In Process

by Paul Goldberg

President Trump was officially acquitted by the GOP led Senate and in doing so they shamed the Democrats and Mitt Romney.

Romney committed political suicide with his vote to convict Trump on one article of impeachment and acquitted him on the other.

Lindsey Graham gave a fiery and furious speech on the Senate floor today and denounced the proceedings.

“You send this crap over here and you’re okay with it,” Lindsey said.

“You have weakened the institution of the presidency and be careful what you wish for because it’s gonna come back your way.”

The Senate acquitted Trump on the first article of impeachment – abuse of power with only Mitt Romney voting to convict.

Senate votes 52-48 against the impeachment of President Donald Trump on Article 1. All Republicans voted to acquit except for Utah Senator Mitt Romney and all Democrats voted to impeach the president.

The Senate voted the same 53-48 to acquit Trump of the second article of impeachment with Mitt Romney voting to acquit on the charge of obstruction of Congress.

Joe Manchin a swing Dem said this of his guilty vote which will doom him in the next election:

“Voting whether or not to remove a sitting President has been a truly difficult decision, and after listening to the arguments presented by both sides. I have reached my conclusion reluctantly,” Manchin said in the statement.

“For the reasons above I must vote yes on the articles of impeachment. I take no pleasure at these votes, and I am saddened this is the legacy we leave our children and grandchildren. I have always wanted this president and every president to succeed, but I deeply love our country and must do what I think is best for the nation.”
