Seattle Police Chief Resigns after City Council Makes Sweeping Cuts to Dept. Budget

Seattle Police Chief Carmen Best Chief Carmen Best has emailed her resignation notice to Seattle police officers. Best served in the department for 28 years. Seattle City council approved a plan that would cut roughly 100 of the 1,400 police officers.

Best’s resignation comes on the same day the city council voted to cut the police department’s budget
