Reporter Goes To Buy A Gun Then His Past Comes Back To Haunt Him

Chicago Sun-Times reporter, columnist, and editorial board member, Neil Steinberg doesn’t like gun owners and he’s really crude. One time he wrote, “Guns are a kind of masturbatory aid of millions of Americans who imagine themselves supermen.”

Steinberg claimed that it’s super easy to buy a gun like the AR-15 and went to Maxon’s shooters in Des Plaines, Illinois.

The woke liberal reporter chose a Smith & Wesson Model M&P15 Sport which is an AR-15-styled semi-automatic weapon and a 30-round magazine.

However, when it was time to complete the sale the gun store refused to sell him the rifle.

According to the clerk, Steinberg yelled, “you sell to terrorists, you sell to insane people, but you won’t sell to a reporter?”

The clerk informed him that his background check revealed a “history of alcohol abuse and domestic violence.”

WDBO reported:

Steinberg, 45, of Northbrook, Illinois was arrested  in his home after his wife, Edie, called 911 and reported abuse, said Sgt. Michael Keady of the Northbrook Police Department. Steinberg spent the night in jail and posted bail.

Edie Steinberg had first tried to call emergency services on another telephone, but Neil Steinberg hit that phone out of her hand, causing minor injuries, Keady said.

She was able to call 911 on another phone, he said.

Steinberg was charged with one count of domestic battery and one count of interfering with the reporting of domestic battery. Both are misdemeanors and carry sentences of up to a year in jail, Keady said.

The charges were dismissed after Steinberg completed alcohol treatment and that was how he was able to obtain a Firearms card in Illinois.

Seeing that Steinberg had a history of alcohol and domestic violence the gun store decided not to sell the rifle to the reporter. Of course, Steinberg didn’t blame his actions for not being able to purchase the rifle he blamed the gun store.
