Proposal for BLM Street Mural Rejected by Phoenix City Council

A proposal for a BLM street mural has been rejected by Phoenix City Council.

According to Fox10 “The proposed mural would have included the “Black Lives Matter” statement along with painted images of Martin Luther King, Jr., Cesar Chavez and John Lewis.”

The City of Phoenix sent the following letter to those proposing the mural.

Phoenix Councilman Sal DiCiccio wrote:

“For everyone who has reached out to my office regarding the proposed BLM mural, it was withdrawn from today’s agenda without a vote. It may still come back, but I will let you know here if that happens.”
