Republican lawmakers are pushing to remove anti-Trump Democrat Rep. Jerry Nadler (D-NY) from his position as House Judiciary Committee chairman.

On Tuesday, Rep. Lance Gooden (R-TX) introduced legislation to remove Nadler in a bid to end the impeachment inquiry into President Donald Trump, led by House Democrats.

Gooden’s legislation would formally recognize Nadler’s impeachment proceedings as illegal.

Once the illegality is recognized, then the measure would remove the New York representative from his powerful role as the committee’s chair.

According to Breitbart, the Texas congressman contended that the Judiciary Committee must receive authorization to begin impeachment proceedings.

However, the House denied Nadler authorization by overwhelmingly rejecting H.R. 498 in July.

Nadler has continued to claim that he is “impeaching the president– right now.”

“In recent days Democrats have sanctimoniously declared their allegiance to the rule of law,” Rep. Gooden said in a statement Tuesday.

“I encourage them to follow those rules and hold Chairman Nadler accountable for breaking them.”

Rep. Gooden’s resolution arises as House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) announced Tuesday that Democrats will move forward on an impeachment inquiry into the president.

Joe Biden is accused or working to shield his son, Hunter, from an investigation into corruption

The latest impeachment effort arose after a report found that President Trump reportedly urged Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to look into former Vice President Joe Biden’s son, Hunter.

Hunter Biden’s business dealings in the eastern European country have been at the center of mounting speculation of corruption.

Trump lawyer Rudy Guiliani has said that Biden, as vice president, worked to shield Hunter from an investigation into a Ukrainian gas company he was tied to.

“By law, he may not launch impeachment proceedings until the full House votes for him to do so,” Gooden added in his statement.

“This attempted coup against a duly-elected, sitting president is unprecedented and must be stopped.

“I urge the Majority to move immediately to have him stripped of his chairmanship and that any accomplices on the Judiciary Committee not be considered as a replacement.”

Good man. This unpleasant piece of work shouldn’t be on any committee, let alone head it, with his childish, petty spitefulness.
