Judge Rejects Abrams bid to seek unlimited contributions "This Court will not rewrite Georgia law"

U. S. District Judge Mark Cohen has rejected Stacey Abrams bid to seek unlimited campaign contributions because she is not yet her party’s nominee.

Abrams had argued she should be seen as her party’s nominee since she does not have a primary opponent.

Judge Cohen wrote “This Court will not rewrite Georgia law to enable One Georgia to stand in the same shoes as a leadership committee that, in Plaintiffs’ view, is operating in violation of the First Amendment.”

Lauren Groh-Wargo, Abrams campaign manager said the  decision means “it is more urgent than ever” for her supporters to donate.
