GAME ON: Trump Gives Bill Barr Complete Authority to Declassify Origins of Russia Probe

President Trump dropped a whopper on Thursday night.

Soon enough, the entire world will know the origins of “spying” on the 2016 Trump campaign.

Also, how the whole Russia conspiracy fiasco became a thing.

From Fox News:

Trump claims his campaign was the victim of “spying,” though the intelligence community has insisted it acted lawfully in following leads in the Russia investigation.

The president had told Fox News earlier in May that he would allow declassification “soon.” He elaborated, “I didn’t want to do it originally because I wanted to wait, because I know what they — you know I’ve seen the way they play. They play very dirty.”

Last month, Barr ran into a buzz saw of criticism from Democratic lawmakers and media figures for testifying that “spying did occur” against the Trump campaign in 2016. But despite the backlash, Barr appeared to be referring to intelligence collection that already has been widely reported and confirmed.

Trump attorney Rudy Giuliani weighed in:

The President @realDonaldTrump made a wise decision to let AG Barr on the docunents. I don’t know for sure but I seriously doubt there’s any national security concern but some of it could affect pending investigations. I’m sure AG and DOJ will make a very appropriate decision.

Barr didn’t have to step back into the public arena. He was already attorney general once, under President George H.W. Bush.

He could’ve stayed retired. But he didn’t.

Barr felt compelled to work in the Trump administration to serve his country and he has done so with honor.

Since then, the AG has been mercilessly attacked by the far-left in an attempt to denigrate his character.

On Wednesday afternoon, Congressional Democrats held Barr in contempt.

Earlier in the morning, though, Barr received a surprise he certainly didn’t see coming.

A little color from the President’s cabinet meeting today. Sources tell John Roberts from FOX News that Attorney General William Barr walked into the room to a standing ovation. Barr said he was surprised and then smiled. #POTUS

Colleague John Roberts rpts AG Barr was greeted with a standing ovation as he walked into the Cabinet Room for today’s cabinet meeting. This comes as the House Judiciary Cmte continues to prep a contempt of Congress resolution for Barr

A standing “O.” Pretty cool!
