Brian Stelter mocked after defending CNN’s anchor monologues that appear to mix “opinion” with “news”

Krystal and Saagar of The Hill TV were not impressed with CNN’s Brian Stelter defending CNN’s increased used of “opinion” monologues from their “news” anchors such as Don Lemon and Chris Cuomo.

“I think the reason why we’re doing it though, the reason why we have these monologues is because it’s the best way to cut through all the noise and get to the news,” Stelter said as he defended CNN.

Stelter admitted it is a problem sometimes that it all sounds like opinion, but he then said “What we’re doing is trying to give perspective on the news, trying to defend truth and decency and democracy, which frankly wasn’t as necessary 5 years ago as it is today.”

Stelter’s defense made Saagar laugh out loud while Krystal made a mocking face.
