After Parade Massacre Activists Says, ‘It Sounds Like The Revolution Has Started’

by Paul Goldberg

A popular Black Lives Matter activist has claimed that the Waukesha Christmas parade attack that killed five people was in response to the Kyle Rittenhouse verdict.

Activist Vaun Mayes claimed that the attack allegedly carried out by Darrell Brooks when he drove an SUV into a crowd of parade spectators was the “start of a revolution.”

Mayes claimed that the attack in Wisconsin was a result of anger over the Kyle Rittenhouse verdict.

While on scene of the attack Monday Mayes said,  “don’t know. Now we’ll have to wait and see because they do have somebody in custody.”

“We may have to wait and see what they say about why this happened. But is sounds possible that the revolution has started in Wisconsin. It started with this Christmas parade. I said I wasn’t going to speak on no rumors. Y’all are repeating some of the stuff that, you know, that has come up. And I can tell you that the initial person who reached out to me said that they believe that this has to do with the verdict, and so I made an assumption of which side it would be from, but I don’t know,” the activist added.

On of the victims in the attack is Jessalyn Torres, 11, who has lost a kidney, suffered a broken pelvis, and has lacerations are all over her lungs. Torres was with her mother and sister where she performed with the Waukesha Xtreme Dance group before being struck by the SUV.

“Her mom and dad are with her now at the hospital. They will not be leaving her side,” Jessalyn’s uncle Ryan told reporters. “The rest of us are going to make sure the other kids are taken care of throughout this.”

“Even when I spoke to her this morning on the phone, she said to me, ‘Tell them to just glue me back together,’” he said, laughing. “They decided to do the intubation after that to make her more stable.”

“I think she’s confused, she doesn’t really understand what happened. A lot of these kids are confused, they don’t know how to feel. They’re all going through this in their own way, and most of them saw it,” Kohnke added.
